We use 1/2", 4'x8' sheets of sanded plywood to make the top board containing the design. The boards are cut to 2'x4' or 2'x3 (depending on what size you order) at Lowes.
The frames are made out of 2x4's that I plain down some to give the wood a smooth finish when applying the paint. The legs fold up inside the boards for easy storage.
The 1/2" plywood is attached to the frame using 2 1/2" wood screws, countersunk into the frame.
2 coats of Valspar primer are placed on the 1/2" plywood, frame and legs. We then use the colors (Valspar from Lowes) of your favorite team, applying 2 coats.
The boards are then covered with 2 coats of polycrilic by minwax to protect the boards. I use polycrilic rather than polyurethane because it does not leave a yellowish tint on the boards once it dries.
All the boards are drawn and hand painted, I DO NOT use decals. We can design a set for you as long as we can find the logos or you can also email me logos you would like to use.
